'Art Installation Made Effortless'
Our picture hanging service covers Gloucester, Longlevens, Quedgeley, Hucclecote, the Docks and the wider GL1 to GL4 area. We’re a team of gallery-trained installers and curators with technicians based in Bristol, forty-five minutes down the M5, rated five stars on Google and featured on BBC DIY SOS. From a single canvas above the sofa in a Longlevens semi to a full hang across a Docks warehouse apartment, we bring the same meticulous approach to every job.

Picture hanging for every kind of Gloucester home
Gloucester Docks is the job that catches people out. The converted warehouses have thick Victorian brick, exposed masonry and steel where you’d expect plaster, and the walls are nothing like the rest of the city’s housing. Drilling into old brick means finding the brick rather than the soft mortar between it, and the dust needs containing properly in a finished flat. Ceilings are high, so the hang gets planned for the room’s proportions rather than dropped to a standard height.
Most of our residential work is in the family streets: Longlevens, Hucclecote, Tuffley, Abbeydale, Barnwood and Kingsholm. Solid brick in the older semis, cavity walls in the interwar stock, and dot-and-dab plasterboard out at Quedgeley and Kingsway, where the board is stuck to blockwork with a void behind it. That void is why heavy mirrors come off new-build walls. We fix for what’s actually behind the plaster, not what the room looks like.
Gloucester also has more commercial work than its size suggests. We hang for offices around the business parks, for hotels and restaurants at the Quays, and in the older buildings around the Cathedral quarter and Westgate, where listed status changes what can go into a wall. Same approach either way: agree placement before anything goes up, protect the floors, leave the place tidy.

Would highly recommend Conor from Hang it Services. He did a great job with about 50 pictures and a heavy mirror in my house. He took time to advise me which pictures could stay where they are, which could be rehung or regrouped and the best place for them to go. He then worked quickly and professionally to get everything up by the end of the day. I am very happy with the result!Posted on Google![]()

Extremely happy with the service I received from Hang It Services. Callum put up a large very heavy mirror and several pictures for us. He advised on placement knowledgeably and was meticulous with measurements to ensure that the items were hung where we agreed and perfectly straight. He was professional and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this company again.Posted on Google![]()

I had Rowan to hang about 30 pictures both large and small after a redecoration and he’s done a fantastic job and also gave invaluable advice on placement. Some are hung lower than I would have put them or grouped slightly differently but this is where it pays to use an expert rather than getting in a handyman as they look so very good.Posted on Google![]()

James visited for the second time to hang some more pictures. From initial enquiry to carrying out the task is quick. He takes time to explain the options of hanging and also what will look best. He works efficiently and tidily. I would have no hesitation in recommending James for any hanging requirements that you may have.Posted on Google![]()

Absolutely loved the experience of having ‘Hang It’ sort all my pictures out. James was brilliant and has such a good eye for what works where . I can’t recommend them enough, from the super friendly and efficient David in the office, to meeting and spending the day with James. Moving house can be so stressful but using such a brilliant company to hang your pictures is definitely a wonderful treat. Picture hanging Gloucester FAQs
Most Gloucester bookings happen within a few days. With technicians based in Bristol, forty-five minutes down the M5, we can sometimes fit urgent jobs in within 48 hours. Call us, and we’ll give you our up-to-date availability.
Yes. A lot of our Gloucester work is one piece in one room. Photo-First quote system means you’ll know the price before we arrive, so there’s no minimum-spend surprise.
Yes. Old warehouse brick is hard but the mortar between it often isn’t, so the fixing goes into sound brick rather than a crumbling joint. We use dust extraction to keep the mess off a finished floor, and we’ll check your lease or building rules first, since some of the Docks conversions are listed and restrict what can go into the walls.
Yes, and it’s the failure we’re called out to most. Dot-and-dab leaves a void between the plasterboard and the blockwork, so an ordinary plug spins in the gap and pulls out under load. We either use fixings that spread the load across the board, or drill through to the block behind, depending on the weight of the piece. We check before anything goes up rather than after it falls.
Yes. Reception walls, meeting rooms and corridor runs, at the business parks, the Quays and around the city centre. We work outside normal hours where a workplace needs it, and we can follow a designer’s or facilities team’s plan or advise on placement ourselves.
Send us photos of the artwork or mirror and the wall it’s going on, with rough sizes. We’ll come back the same day with a clear estimate, so you know the cost before we book you in.
Yes. Public liability up to £5m. Certificate available upon request. Further insurance available for higher-value items.
We price by time for smaller jobs, and by day-rate for larger installations. Written quote available before any work starts. No surprise charges. Drop us a photo and we’ll be happy to help.
