'Art Installation Made Effortless'
Our picture hanging service covers Bristol, Bishopston, Southville, Redland, Clifton and the wider BS1 to BS16 area. We’re a team of gallery-trained installers and curators with technicians based here in Bristol, rated five stars on Google and featured on BBC DIY SOS. From a single canvas above the sofa in a Gloucester Road terrace to a 40-piece install across a Royal York Crescent town house, we bring the same meticulous approach to every job.

Picture hanging for every kind of Bristol home
Most of our Bristol work is in the Victorian and Edwardian terraces of Bishopston, Horfield, Southville, Bedminster and Totterdown. Plenty of these houses are built from Pennant sandstone behind the plaster, which is hard, uneven and quick to ruin the wrong drill bit. We choose fixings for the wall rather than the picture, so a family photo wall up the stairs or a mirror over the chimney breast stays put and the plaster stays intact.
Clifton, Cotham, Redland and Kingsdown are where the older stock lives: Georgian and Regency terraces, crescents with tall sash windows, and big villas split into flats. Ceilings run high, original picture rails often survive, and lath and plaster needs a lighter touch than modern board. We’ll hang from the rail where there is one, fit a new rail system where there isn’t, and set each piece against the proportions of the room rather than a standard eye line.
Down on the harbourside, Wapping Wharf, Finzels Reach and the Temple Quay apartment blocks bring the opposite problem: metal-stud partitions, concrete party walls and building managers who want to know exactly what’s going into them. We work to each building’s rules, and we hang for offices, restaurants and hotels across the city centre too.

Would highly recommend Conor from Hang it Services. He did a great job with about 50 pictures and a heavy mirror in my house. He took time to advise me which pictures could stay where they are, which could be rehung or regrouped and the best place for them to go. He then worked quickly and professionally to get everything up by the end of the day. I am very happy with the result!Posted on Google![]()

Extremely happy with the service I received from Hang It Services. Callum put up a large very heavy mirror and several pictures for us. He advised on placement knowledgeably and was meticulous with measurements to ensure that the items were hung where we agreed and perfectly straight. He was professional and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this company again.Posted on Google![]()

I had Rowan to hang about 30 pictures both large and small after a redecoration and he’s done a fantastic job and also gave invaluable advice on placement. Some are hung lower than I would have put them or grouped slightly differently but this is where it pays to use an expert rather than getting in a handyman as they look so very good.Posted on Google![]()

James visited for the second time to hang some more pictures. From initial enquiry to carrying out the task is quick. He takes time to explain the options of hanging and also what will look best. He works efficiently and tidily. I would have no hesitation in recommending James for any hanging requirements that you may have.Posted on Google![]()

Absolutely loved the experience of having ‘Hang It’ sort all my pictures out. James was brilliant and has such a good eye for what works where . I can’t recommend them enough, from the super friendly and efficient David in the office, to meeting and spending the day with James. Moving house can be so stressful but using such a brilliant company to hang your pictures is definitely a wonderful treat. Picture hanging Bristol FAQs
Most Bristol bookings happen within a few days, and with technicians based in the city we can sometimes fit urgent jobs in within 48 hours. Call us, and we’ll give you our up-to-date availability.
Yes. A lot of our Bristol work is one piece in one room. Photo-First quote system means you’ll know the price before we arrive, so there’s no minimum-spend surprise.
Yes. Many of Bristol’s Victorian terraces are built from Pennant sandstone, which is hard and uneven, usually under a coat of lime plaster. We drill into sound stone rather than a crumbling mortar joint, use the right bits at the right speed, and pick fixings rated for the weight. Heavy mirrors get the same treatment with larger fixings.
Often, yes. We check the rail is still sound before loading it, then hang with hooks and cords or rods to suit the room. If the rail’s gone or won’t take the weight, we can fit a modern picture rail system instead.
Yes. New-build blocks around Wapping Wharf, Finzels Reach and Temple Quay tend to mix concrete party walls with metal-stud partitions, and each needs a different fixing. We’ll check the building’s rules first and send method details to your managing agent if they ask for them.
Send us photos of the artwork or mirror and the wall it’s going on, with rough sizes. We’ll come back the same day with a clear estimate, so you know the cost before we book you in.
Yes. Public liability up to £5m. Certificate available upon request. Further insurance available for higher-value items.
We price by time for smaller jobs, and by day-rate for larger installations. Written quote available before any work starts. No surprise charges. Drop us a photo and we’ll be happy to help.
