Working in Wimbledon Village, Common-side homes and the wider SW19

Wimbledon Village sits on Wimbledon Hill, distinct in character from the town below. Georgian and Victorian period houses line the High Street, Church Road and the residential streets running off the Common. Lath and plaster, original cornicing and Victorian picture rails are common.

Common-side residential along Parkside, West Side and the streets around Wimbledon Common is some of the leafiest London property. Large Victorian and Edwardian villas, often detached, with high-ceilinged drawing rooms and mature gardens.

The town centre below the Hill, around Wimbledon Broadway and the station, has more modern stock — metal-stud plasterboard apartments, executive new builds and family homes from the mid-twentieth century onward. We work across all three sub-markets, and we’ll always confirm the wall type before drilling.

Most Wimbledon bookings happen within a few days. For urgent jobs, we can sometimes fit them in within 48 hours. Call us and we’ll give you our up-to-date availability.

Yes. The Village’s Georgian and Victorian houses are some of our most-requested Wimbledon work. We use longer fixings and the correct masonry bit at low speed to avoid cracking original lath and plaster. Original picture rails are often in place, and we’ll hang from them where they’re sound.

Yes. The Victorian and Edwardian villas along Parkside, West Side and the Common-side streets are some of our most enjoyable Wimbledon work — high ceilings, ornate cornicing and large pieces that need careful eye-line decisions. Two-person lifts as standard on anything above 25kg.

Yes. The modern apartment buildings around the Broadway and station are typically metal-stud plasterboard, which needs Gripit or Toggler fixings sized to the weight. We size the fixing to the piece, not the other way around.

Yes. Public liability up to £5m. Certificate available upon request. Further insurance available for higher-value items.

We price by time for smaller jobs, and by day-rate for larger installations. Written quote available before any work starts. No surprise charges. Drop us a photo and we’ll be happy to help.
